We are barely five weeks out and the final touches are being put on what will be the largest Kona regatta yet for North American racers. We have a dedicated website for the event at www.konausa.org to help maximize exposure for this defining event.
Our host hotel, the AmericInn, has reserved a block of rooms. Please make sure when booking to mention you are with the Kona regatta to receive the special rate. Oak Ridge, an upscale hotel 12 miles from the site, has also offered us a special rate. An interactive map of Waconia with the four main locations and travel routes is available on the site, with less than 2.5 miles between the event site and the AmericInn.
We still have approximately a dozen charters remaining out of the 50 in our program. Half of these are eligible for the Kona Midwest scholarship program, which subsidizes women and youth with reduced charter fees. We will also have the new Kona harness lines available with the charters.
The adjustable outhaul became class legal at the Miami AGM, though few upgraded until Calema in March. Components will not be provided on-site, but we may have a supporting dealer available if there is sufficient demand. Note that the adjustable outhaul primarily becomes relevant in planing conditions. Please contact us if you need assistance obtaining components.
More information is available on the Kona One event page.
