Kona ONE Cup April 7, 2013, Delft
April 7, 2013 was the day Kona ONE Windsurfing Netherlands hosted its very first Kona ONE Cup. And what an event it was! Early in the morning, the lake at Windsurfclub Plané in Delft was already bustling with activity. A total of 15 brand-new Kona ONE sets were unpacked and rigged. Many hands make light work, and before the skippers' meeting began, all the Kona ONE gear was ready to go.
With 18 competitors on the starting line, the Kona ONE fleet joined the participants of the Holland Windsurfing Series, creating a colorful spectacle. With only 2 knots on the wind gauge, the racing required immense tactical and technical skill. Fortunately, the wind picked up slightly during the third and final race, allowing all Kona ONE windsurfers to showcase their abilities.
Congratulations to the top three: Frank, Marc, and Maurice for taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively!
A big thank you to Windsurfclub Plané and the Holland Windsurfing Series for this fantastic day. Thank you to all competitors in the Kona ONE Cup for your participation and great enthusiasm. Together, we proved once again that windsurfing is above all about having fun—anywhere and anytime!
